Stephanie Seymour started modeling at the tender age of 14, doing small work for papers and department stores in the San Diego area. At the age of 15, she entered an Elite Model Management Look of the Year contest, which she won. This was a big factor for her decision to move to New York to pursue modeling. Elite was headed by Jon Casablancas, of whom Stephanie Seymour had a relationship with and when she was 22, she bore their first child.
Stephanie Seymour did many fashion spreads mostly for swimsuit and lingerie, gracing the pages of Sports Illustrated Magazine Swimsuit Edition and as part of the much-coveted Victorias Secret Catalogues. In 1991 she posed nude for Playboy, and all these only helped skyrocket her popularity and made her in demand. Stephanie Seymour also appeared in music videos of Guns n Roses, for their songs November Rain, and Dont Cry while dating the bands Axl Rose around 1992. She has also appeared in magazines such as Vogue and Cosmopolitan.
After dating Axl Rose, Stephanie Seymour moved on to Warren Beatty which became a favorite topic for the media to feast on. In 1994, she started doing many print ads again, as some of her most famous work has been with Victorias Secret as well as Sports Illustrated. Stephanie Seymour also appeared in numerous magazine covers such as Vogue UK, Vogue US, Self, GQ, W, and Allure. In 1994, Stephanie Seymour was also named as one of People Magazines 50 Most Beautiful People in the World. In 1995 she married producer Peter Brant, who divorced his wife to marry the model. The couple has three children together, namely Peter Brant Jr., Harry Brant, and Lily Margaret Brant. In 1998, she released her book entitled Stephanie Seymours Beauty Secrets for Dummies.
Stephanie Seymour has put a face to some of the largest brands in the world, including LOreal, Versace, and Chanel, and is one of the most recognizable names and faces in the modeling industry. She also did a print ad with the Gap together with her family. Stephanie Seymour has also appeared in one episode of Law and Order in 2001.
