When she reached 14, Rachel Leigh Cook began looking for serious acting work. In 1996, her modeling agency told her to attend a casting call for the movie 26 Summer Street. It was her work in the public-service TV ad This is Your Brain on Drugs that Rachel Leigh Cook received wider exposure as she lists the things that drugs harm.
In 1995, Rachel Leigh Cook received her first feature film in the movie, The Baby-Sitters Club, which was based on Ann Martins book. In 1999, she won a leading role in the romantic comedy film Shes All That. Rachel Leigh Cook then played as one of the band members in Josie and the Pussycats in 2001. She appeared in several independent films and received a small role in the 2005 TV mini-series, Into The West.
In 2000, she became the cover girl of the March-April FHM, which is the premier issue of FHM U.S. Aside from her big-film roles, she also provided the voice of Chelsea Cunningham on the Warner Brothers animated series, Batman Beyond in the episode, Last Resort. Her voice is also featured in the animated film, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
In video games, Rachel Leigh Cook provided the voice of Tifa Lockhart in Kingdom Hearts II and Dirge of Cerberus Final Fantasy VII. Her voice is also featured in the CG movie, Final Fantasy VII, Advent Children. The latest voice-over gig was for a video game, Yakuza, where she played the role of a barkeep named Reina. In 2002, Rachel Leigh Cook starred in the New Found Glory music video, dressed to Kill.
Rachel Leigh Cook launched her own production company called Bens Sister Productions, which refers to her younger brother who is an aspiring filmmaker. Although she stepped away from the Hollywood spotlight to spend time with family and friends, she later returned to mainstream films after signing to a new casting agency. She received a role in the movie, Nancy Drew and played a small role in the film, Blonde Ambition.
Rachel Leigh Cook dated actors Ryan Reynolds, Vincent Kartheiser, Rider Strong, Colin Hanks and Shane West. However, she is now married to actor Daniel Gillies and lives in Los Angeles.
