Patricia Arquette was born on the 8th of April 1968 in Chicago, Illinois to actor Director Lewis Arquette and actress, teacher, poet, political activist and therapist Mardi Olivia. She grew up in Virginia and California along with her other famous siblings Rosanna, David, Alexis and Richmond.

In 1986, Patricia got her first break in show business when she appeared in Pretty Smart. The following year she played Kristen Parker in the third series of Nightmare on Elm Street’s A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. Her appearance in Nightmare 3 earned her popularity. Her next role in Tony Scott’s True Romance cemented her stardom in Hollywood. Soon enough she landed several appearances in television and in the movies. She was then seen in many critically hailed films including Beyond Rangoon, Ethan Frome, Stigmata, Human Nature, Lost Highway, Bringing Out the Dead, Flirting with Disaster and Holes.

In 2005, she landed the starring role in the television series by NBC, Medium. She played the role of psychic Allison Du Bois. For her portrayal in Medium she has won the Outstanding Lead Actress Award form the Emmy Awards in 2005. In 2006, she was nominated again for the series in the Screen Actors’ Guild Award and again in the Golden Globe. In 2007, again she was nominated in the Golden Globe. Prior to her role in the Medium, she won the Cable ACE Award in 1991 for her role as a deaf epileptic in Wildflower.

Her other roles included the 1988 Far North as Jilly, the 1990 Prayer of the Rollerboys as Casey, the 1991 The Indian Runner as Dorothy, the 1992 Trouble Bound as Kit Califano, the 1993 True Romance as Alabama Whitman, the 1994 Ed Wood as Kathy O’Hara, the 1995 Beyond Rangoon as Laura Bowman, the 1996 Flirting with Disaster as Nancy and in Infinity as Arline Greenbaum, the 1997 Lost Highway as Renee Madison and Alice Wakefield and in the Nightwatch as Katherine, the 1998 The Hi-Lo County as Mona Birk, the 1999 Goodbye Lover as Sandra Dunmore, the 2000 Little Nicky as Valerie Veran, the 2001 Human Nature as Lila Jute, the 2002 The Badge as Scarlet, the 2003 Tiptoes as Lucy, the Holes as Miss Katherine “Kissin Kate” Barlow, the Abby Singer as Cameo and the 2006 Fast Food Nation as Cindy.

In 1995, she married actor Nicolas Cage. Nine months after they separated and divorced in 2000. She then married another actor, Thomas Jane, in 2006 at the Palazzo Contarini in Venice. After her mother died of breast cancer in 1997 she then began her active campaign for cancer awareness.
