Born on the 1st of September 1970, Padma Parvati Lakshmi has hosted the reality television program Top Chef, since its second season last 18th of October 2006. She was born in Chennai, India, but she was raised in Madras, India and the United States.

Padma is a precious only daughter to her father who is a Pfizer executive and to her mother who is a nurse that specializes in suicide prevention. Unfortunately, a year after she was born, her biological parents separated. Both of her parents have remarried and she has two siblings from a later marriage of his father.

The sizzling sexy Hollywood actress spent her earlier education in Chennai, India. Later on, she enrolled in Worcester, Massachusetts at Clark University, where she graduated with honors in 1992 for her BA in Theater Arts.

While sipping her latte at a cafe in Spain, a modeling agent has spotted the unbelievably hot Padma Lakshmi in her early 20's. On that fateful day, little did Padma know that she would be modeling for the top designers in the fashion industry such as Ralph Lauren, Roberto Cavalli, Versus, and Emanuel Ungaro. Padma has even become a favorite of the famed photographer Helmut Newton, who has frequently highlighted her right arm scar as a beauty mark.

Padma's career has been on the rockets ever since. Over the years, the sexy Indian-American celebrity has already graced the prestigious covers of Cosmopolitan, Vogue, L'Officiel India, Shoo, Harper's Bazaar, Newsweek, Asian Woman, Avenue, and Industry.

Aside from the Emmy nominated Top Chef, she also had hosting stints in television shows such as The View, Last Call with Carson Daly, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Melting Pot and Italy's top rated show, Domenica In.

From Bollywood up to Hollywood, Padma has several films to her belt. She also appeared in many television episodes such as The Ten Commandments, Caraibi and Star Trek Enterprise.

Of course, the hot beauty has also fallen in love, at least once. She has been married to Indian-British novelist Salman Rushdie. Rushdie was only seven years younger than her father. When she is asked if there is a correlation in her relationships with regard to her estrangement with her father, she admitted that there is, saying that people are attracted to what they feel they need.
