This section contains Nia Peeples Biography

American R&B singer and actress Nia Peeples was born in Hollywood on December 10, 1961. She grew up in West Covina, and is best known for her multitalented skills in both singing and acting. Nia Peeples went to UCLA where she was granted a scholarship for music, and has even performed for Liberace as an opening act. She has English, Irish, Scottish, Filipino, German, Spanish, Italian and Native American blood in her, producing her stunning looks and exotic beauty. Her real name is Virenia Gwendolyn Peeples.

Although short of recognition in the acting field, Nia Peeples has garnered awards for her musical talent. Her single Trouble landed on the number one spot on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play Chart in 1988, and on the Hot 100 list it became number 35. Street of Dreams is her most popular and successful song, hitting the number 12 spot of 1991’s Hot 100.

Her first acting stint was for a play, called The Music Shop. Her onstage performance led to many more acting jobs, such as Hardcastle and McCormick, T.J. Hooker, Tales of the Gold Monkey, all in 1982. Nia Peeples then starred in the drama General Hospital where she lasted from 1984 to 1987. When her character was killed, this opened more doors for her in acting, leading to her first film, North Shore. Nia Peeples then starred in the British musical series, Top of the Pops, from 1987 to 1988 as well as another music series, MTV Friday Night Street Party. She was also given a chance to host her own music program, Party Machine in 1991.

In 1995, Nia Peeples became a regular on the television show Courthouse, although the show was short lived. She then started a string of television and movie appearances, including Crisis Center, Swimsuit, Nasty Boys, Return to Lonesome Dove, Mr. Stitch, and Walker, Texas Ranger. Although she has many more television appearances, all of them are short lived but has been more successful in communicating to the audience through acting rather than in singing.

In 2004, Nia Peeples was a co-host in Pulled Over, a family oriented makeover series. Her most recent performance is joining the 2007 cast of The Young and the Restless. She has been married (and divorced) three times, and has two children: Christopher and Sienna Noel.
