Half Norwegian and half Filipino model and actress Natassia Malthe was born on January 19, 1974, in Norway. Her Filipina mother, Harald, is a retired nurse while her father Phin is a doctor. Natassia Malthe has one sister, Kristin, who is a model as well. Her arresting looks and striking beauty has not gone unnoticed, as this lady has gone on international modeling stints before she realized she wanted to act. She attended the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, Norwegian Opera House, and the Goh Ballet Academy, making her well equipped in many fields of the arts.

Natassia Malthe had a lot to prove as she set out to be an actress, as she had to fight typecasting and stereotyping that models had to endure. She finally got her first big break opposite Jennifer Garner as Typhoid Mary, in the superhero movie Elektra in 2004. She was nominated an MTV Movie Award in 2005 for Best Kiss in her scene with Jennifer Garner for the movie. Before that, Natassia Malthe had small roles in many movies and television shows, including Disturbing Behavior, Lake Placid, Dark Angel, Trapped, The Wedding Dress, 40 Days and 40 Nights, Stark Raving Mad, Halloween: Resurrection, A Guy Thing, and Devil’s Highway. She is sometimes known in movies as Lina Teal.

Her strong appearance in Elektra paved the way for many more roles for Natassia Malthe. More appearances both in television and movies include: Wish You Were Here, Bound by Lies, Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber, Awake, Bloodsuckers, Chaos, Skinwalkers, Dead and Deader, and the more recent Sex and Death 101, Fallen, BloodRayne II, and the upcoming 2008 film The Other Side of the Tracks.

Natassia Malthe is also popularly known in the Philippines as a commercial and ramp model. She has been named number 53 in Maxim’s 2003 edition of 100 Sexiest Women, and number 74 on the same magazine’s Hot 100 of 2005 list.
