Mylene Farmer Biography
The sexy Mylene was born on September 12, 1961, in the Montreal suburb of Pierrefonds, Quebec, Canada. Her father Max was a civil engineer and her mother Marguerite take care of the children, who also included Brigitte, Michel, and Jean-Loup. Her parents are originally from French moved in Canada in late 1950s but returned to France when she was eight. In her teenage years, Mylene`s passion is about horses. She passed her riding instructor exam at the famous equestrian centre in Samur. When 17, Mylene discovered her great passion in acting. She went to Paris for a three year course at the Cours Florent, a prestigious drama school. The glow into stardom started in 1984 by responding to a newspaper ad - looking for an actress for a small film project where she met Laurent Boutonnant, a young film student also enrolled in Cours Florent.
Mylene`s first hit, Maman a tort which was released in March 1984 rocketed straight to the top of the French charts. Her debut album Cendres de Lune, released in January 1986 selling over 1 million copies that proves her immense success. Libertine, her first released from the album in March `86 set the tone for her style, an erotic and mysterious sexual vagueness. Among her best-known songs are Désenchantée, Pourvu qu'elles soient douces, Sans Contrefacon, Libertine, Les Mots, Rêver, California, C'est une belle journée, XXL, Je te Rends ton Amour and Regrets. Unbeknownst to many, Mylene also made films. Her films are Giorgino in 1994 where in she portrayed Catherine and Arthur et les minimoys; she was featured as the voice of Princess Selenia.
Throughout decade Mylene was a full blown popular superstar in France. In 1991 Farmer`s popularity and charm brings her to California. In 1995 Mylene revealed a new style from hot and sexy mystery chicks to a more definitely of rock-oriented, featuring a much more energetic and electric sound. Mylene followed her albums with a hugely successful tour, which attracted tens of thousands of fans.
On January 19, 2002 Mylene went at NRJ Music Awards, carrying off the trophy of a triumph for Best Female Francophone Artist of the year. That same year she also received Platinum Europe Award for her million selling Best Of. On December 2006 Mylene Farmer recorded a single with Moby, Slipping away which became her fourth number one album.
