Monica Potter was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on June 30, 1971. Her real name is Monica Gregg Brokaw. Her family is a close knit Irish American Catholic family. Monica Potter’s father, Paul Brokaw, is an inventor who is known for inventing the first ever car wax made to be flame resistant, while her mother Nancy is a secretary. She has three sisters, and went to school in the Villa Angela Catholic School and the Euclid High School.

Monica Potter first started modeling and doing commercials before she decided to try out acting in Los Angeles in 1994. Her first appearance on the big screen was opposite Nicholas Cage in 1997’s Con Air, followed by Without Limits and Patch Adams, both in 1998. Proving her versatility as an actress, she starred in A Cool Dry Place; Martha, Meet Frank, Daniel, and Lawrence; and The Very Thought of You before she scored her first major roles in Head Over Heels and Along Came a Spider. From comedy to thrillers, Monica Potter quickly became an audience favorite.

Monica Potter also starred in Boston Legal for one season, as Lori Colson. Her most recent movie is 2004’s Saw. She became a mother at 19, with companion at the time Tom Potter. They have two children, Daniel Potter and Liam Potter, although the pair has already divorced. Monica Potter is currently married to Chris Allison, an orthopedic surgeon. They have one child together, Molly Allison.
