Apart from the TV show, Ming Na Wen has been part of several successful productions- in TV, films, and even in Broadway. Among the most popular films that where she played important roles were the videogame-turned-movie Streetfighter where she starred with Jean Claude Van Damme as the hot yet vengeance-driven Chun Li. She also starred in One Night Stand with Wesley Snipes and Director Mike Figgis. As for television productions, Ming Na Wen was one of the first Chinese American to ever star on American television shows in 1956, in As the World Turns. Recently, she also starred as the sexy and hot Trudy Loanne in the ho-hum comedy- The Single Guy.
Ming Na Wens acting career blasted off with several Broadway productions but ultimately started at a young age when she was in the third grade. Her family was from Macau, China and their migration to New York prompted her to look for ways to fit in with her friends. The best way she knew how was to blend with them through acting. After she graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in theater, she pursued a career in acting and performing though her mother was not so anxious about her career choice. Among her top performances were in David Henry Hwangs Golden Child, in Lanford Wilsons Redwood Curtain, and in David Mamets Speed the Plow. Ming Na Wens biggest moment was when she took part of the production The Joy Luck Club.
Ming Na is now married to Eric Michael Zee, a screenwriter. She is a proud mother of two children- a boy and a girl, and aside from acting, she also manages an Asian boy band known as At Last.
Ming Na proves to be one of the most sought for celebrities in Hollywood as she ranked among the 50 Most Beautiful People of the People magazine. She won the inaugural Annie Award for best lead vocal performance in a feature-length film for the voice of Disneys Mulan and she was also among the 100 most influential Asian-Americans of the A magazine.
