Mila Kunis was born in Ukraine on August 14, 1983. Her real name is Milena Markovna Kunis. Her mother Elvira is a physics teacher and drugstore manager, while her father Mark is a mechanical engineer and executive of a cab company. Mila Kunis has one older brother, Mike. She and her family moved to Los Angeles in 1990. Mila Kunis learned to speak English by watching television shows such as The Price is Right, and attended the Hubert Howe Bancroft Middle School. She took up acting at the Beverly Hills Studios.

Mila Kunis was starring in television commercials before she started acting professionally. Her commercials include Payless shoes and Barbie, as well as a modeling stint for Guess?. Her acting debut was in 1994 when she was cast for an episode of Days of Our Lives as Hope Williams. Mila Kunis then did a series of other television appearances, including The John Larroquette Show for 3 years, Baywatch, Walker Texas Ranger, and Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher. Mila Kunis first appeared in the silver screen as a minor role in the movie Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves.

Mila Kunis’s next film appearance was in Gia, where she played a younger version of the main character, a role taken by Angelina Jolie. It was Gia that got the public to notice the acting talent of the wide eyed beauty. In 1998, Mila Kunis auditioned for the role that made her famous: Jackie Burkhart on the teen comedy about growing up in the seventies, That 70’s Show. She had to lie to the directors about her age to get the part, as they required those who audition to be at least 17, but she was 15 when the series started shooting. Mila Kunis won three awards for her part on the show: the 2002 Young Hollywood Award in the One to Watch, Female category; the 2000 Young Star Award Best Young Actress/Performance in a Comedy TV Series, and the 1999 Young Star Award for Best Performance by a Young Actress in a Comedy TV Series.

Mila Kunis also starred in movies, such as Santa with Muscles, Get over It where she costarred with Kirsten Dunst, American Psycho II: All American Girl, and Tony and Tina’s Wedding. She is also well known for giving the character of Meg Griffin a voice in the television series Family Guy. Mila Kunis is also in music video performances of Aerosmith’s Jaded, and The Strokes’ The End Has No End. Her exotic looks have landed her on number 54 of Stuff Magazine’s 102 Sexiest Women in the World in 2002, and number 47 on Maxim’s Hot 100 List in 2006.
