Mathilda May was born Karima Mathilda Haim on February 8, 1965 at Paris, France. Her father was French playwright Victor Haim and her mother was a prima ballerina for the Sweden Maimo ballet company. Mathilda May was a former ballerina at age 8 until her late teens and won the Premier du Conservatoire de Danse de Paris at age 16.
Mathilda May was best noted on her sexy appearance as seductive vampire in the films Lifeforce where she is fully nude for most of her screen time in the movie. Mathilda had done various erotic movies that have stirred the emotions of his male viewers.
Her film debut was in 1984 fantasy movie Nemo. Though she had proven that she can do a comedy and drama, she was still best remembered as a hot sex symbol of her time. In 1991, she starred as the hot young woman who is unhappily married to a much older and sickly husband. The movie shows how the young woman struggle as she fight temptations and desires for physical and sexual satisfaction. Mathilda May was also known for her ample breast exposure in the 1994 movie The Tit and the Moon. In 1997, she appeared on a cameo role in the films the Jackal starring Bruce Willis and Richard Gere.
In addition to her feature films, Mathilda May frequently appears on television. She was part of 2001 French miniseries Fabio Montale. In 2003, she joined the cast of famous French Drama Soyez prudents.
Mathilda won the Cesar Awards as Promising Actress for her performance in 1987 movie Le Cri du hibou. As a musical artist, the hot actress released an album she describes as Funk in 1994.
Mathilda May was married to Paul Powell on December 2, 1991 but they divorced in 1993. after a year, she married her former companion Gerard Darmon where she had two children. However the two broke up and where divorced in 1999. In 2000, Mathilda May married Philippe Kelly.
