Marina Sirtis was born on the 25th of March 1955 in London, England. She is most famous for her role as Deanna Troi, a half human half betazoid, in the hit sci-fi television series Star Trek: The Next Generation. She is also remembered for her role in the movie Crash and as one semi-regular cast of Girlfriends. While still in school, against her parent’s wishes, she auditioned to several the drama schools and was then accepted to the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Before landing her part in the hit series Star Trek, Marina Sirtis was first seen in several sexy movies, such as in The Wicked Lady, where she had a topless fight with actress Faye Dunaway. Then in Charles Bronson’s Death Wish 3, she was raped by thugs. In the movie Blind Date, she played the part of a prostitute. In The Wicked Lady, Death Wish 3 and Blind Date, she appeared nude.

In the UK, Marina Sirtis was seen in several television shows including Minder, The Return of Sherlock Holmes, Ruffles and other shows. She was also seen in the famous commercial of Cinzano Blanco, opposite Joan Collins and Leonard Rossiter.

Marina Sirtis almost missed the part in Star Trek: The Next Generation since at that time her visa had already ended. The time she received the call, she was already packing her bags to return to the UK She was seen in seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, opposite actors Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spinner and Michael Dorn. Eventually, Marina became friends with her costars that Dorn and Spinner were groomsmen when she got married.

Aside from Star Trek: The Next Generation, Marina Sirtis also reprised the character of Deanna Troi for several times in Star Trek: Voyager and in the other feature films of Star Trek, including Star Trek: Enterprise.

After Star Trek, Marina Sirtis lent her voice in the Disney cartoon series Gargoyles and in the Team Atlantis. She was also seen in several television series including Stargate SG-1, playing the role of Dr. Svetlana Markov. She was also seen in another sci-fi series Earth: Final Conflict, playing the role of Sister Margaret. In 1988, she was seen in Diagnosis: Murder and in 2001 in the BBC series Casualty.
