Leighton Meester Biography
Under Wilhelmina Modeling Agency, Leighton Meester was booked for a Ralph Lauren ad campaign. The campaign was shot by esteemed photographer Bruce Webber. She also worked with Sofia Coppola, the daughter of Francis Ford Coppola, who was at that time was still working as a photographer.
Her first professional appearance as an actress was in the television series Law & Order, in 1999. This was then followed by another guest starring role in the series, Boston Public in 2001. The following year, Leighton Meester was seen in Family Affair and the following year in The Jackalope and Tarzan. That same year, she debuted on film and was seen in Hangmans Curse.
In 2004, she returned to television in Hollywood Division, Crossing Jordan, 7th Heaven, North Shore and Entourage. The following year, Leighton Meester was the four episodes of the hit series 24, as Debbie Pendleton. Also in 2005, she was in the sitcom 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter, playing the role of Nikki. By this time, she was already one of the hottest young actresses in Hollywood.
In 2005, Leighton Meester played the role of Carrie Bishop in the two episodes of Veronica Mars. She also had a recurring role in the series Surface, playing the role of Savannah Bennet for 13 episodes. She was also in the pilot episode of Secrets of a Small Town.
In 2006, Leighton Meester was in Flourish, Inside, Numb3rs and in two episodes of the hit series House. The following year, she was in another hit series, CSI: Miami, in the Broken Home episode, playing the role of Heather Crowley.
