Leah Remini was born in New York on June 15, 1970. Her father George, owns an asbestos company, while her mother Vicki is a former high school principal and current owner of a restaurant in Los Angeles. Leah Remini and her family moved to Los Angeles when she was 13 years old, and she was a high school dropout at 14. She worked many jobs including waitressing, selling insurance, and telemarketing.

Leah Remini’s first acting job was a line for one episode of the show Head of the Class. Ever since, she has gotten numerous acting jobs and has established herself as a professional actress. Soon, she was cast on Cheers for two episodes. She has also appeared in Living Dolls, Saved by the Bell, The Man in the Family, The Commish, Fired Up, Evening Shade, Diagnosis: Murder, NYPD Blue, and Friends. Leah Remini is most popular for her role as Carrie Hefernan on the sitcom The King of Queens.

Leah Remini has also appeared in a number of talk shows, including Entertainment Tonight, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Ellen de Generes Show, The Sharon Osbourne Show, Howard Stern, E! True Hollywood Story, The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, The Rosie O’Donnel Show, Hollywood Squares, and Celebrity Profile. Other special television appearances include Dennis Miller, Inside Out: Leah Remini The Baby Special, Intimate Portrait, I Love Lucy’s 50th Anniversary Special, and the 27th Annual People’s Choice Awards. Television shows and movies include Who’s the Boss, Normal Life, Valerie, Paradise, Getting up and Going Home, Blossom, Harlan and Merleen, Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers, Renegade, Star Witness, Phantom 2040, First Time Out, Glory Daze, Follow Your Heart, Old School, and In the Motherhood.

In July of 2003, Leah Remini married Angelo Pagan. The wedding was recorded and shown on the VH1 show, Inside Out and was also featured on In Style magazine. One year later, she gave birth to her baby daughter, named Sofia Bella. Stuff Magazine has named her number 19 on their 2002 issue of the 102 Sexiest Women in the World. Her character, Carrie, was named the “hottest housewife” on tv by the audiences. Leah Remini is also an avid practitioner of Scientology. She has also helped promote the controversial Psychiatry: An Industry of Death Museum.
