Kristen Johnston was born on the 20th of September 1967 in Washington, DC. She is most famous for her role in the series 3rd Rock From the Sun, for which she won and Emmy Award. She is also known for her role in ER and for lending her voice in the cartoon series The Flintstones.

Kristen Johnston grew up in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin and graduated from the Whitefish Bay High School. After high school, she went to New York University where she earned her BFA degree in drama.

Her first professional job as an actress was with the prestigious Atlantic Theater Company in New York, founded by David Mamet. While with the Atlantic Theater Company she was seen in several major productions such as As You Like It, Author’s Voice, Rosemary for Remembrance, Girls’ Talk, Portrait of a Woman and Stage Door.

Aside from being with Atlantis Theater Company, Kristen Johnston was also with the Naked Angels Theatre Company, for which she was seen in Hot Keys and The Stand-In. She also performed Kim’s Sister with the New York Stage and Film, along with Jane Adams and David Strathairn. Kristen Johnston’s performance in The Lights earned her a nomination as Best Supporting Actress by the Drama Desk Award.

In 1996, Kristen Johnston landed a role in the television hit show 3rd Rock from the Sun. She played the character of Sally Solomon, an alien posing as sexy woman in Ohio. She was played opposite John Lithgow, French Stewart, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jane Curtin. For her role in the hit series, she soon became one of the stars on television.

Hollywood then offered Kristen Johnston more roles and in 1993, she debuted on film in the movie The Debt, the winner of Best Short in the Cannes Film Festival in 1993. Then in 1995, she was seen in Backfire, playing the role of Kate. Meanwhile other television roles came her way and she was seen in several series including Hearts Afire, The Five Mrs. Buchanans and Chicago Hope.

Along with appearances on television Kristen Johnston was seen on the movie Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and on its sequel, Austin Powers: Goldmember, in 1999 and 2002 respectively. In 2007, she was seen in the movie Music and Lyrics, along with Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant.
