Kathy Ireland was on the beach, like she used to do being a Californian girl, when she was spotted by an Elite magazine agent at the age of 17 and was asked to model. Within weeks of her discovery under the hot California sun, this sexy beach girl was signed in one agency in New York. Kathy was whisk to Rome the following day of her high school graduation from San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara. Her first magazine cover appearance was no less than Vogue Italia in 1987.
This ravishing model had her first brush in the world of films when she was cast to in one low-budget film Alien from L.A. in 1988. The film flunked in the theater ratings but not Kathy. She was called the body of the year because of that film. But this sexy Hollywood actress' claim to fame was her role as Brittany Maddocks in the hot TV series Melrose Place in 1992.
After the movie Alien from L.A., Kathy landed from cover to cover of magazines. To some authority in the world of modeling, Miss Ireland was the first super model and one of the most enduring at that. Kathy Ireland became the most photographed supermodel for Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. She is their acclaimed model for their swimsuit issue's 25th-anniversary. In the early 90's, Kathy was all over the cover of most prominent US fashion magazine like, Vogue, Mademoiselle, and she even appeared on Cheerios cereal boxes. She also did some fitness magazines covers; in fact, Miss Ireland had her own fitness video called Kathy Ireland's Total Fitness Workout.
Kathy Ireland's career had a pause when she gave birth to her son Erik. She was a devoted mother and model parent to her son Erik. However, she made her quick comeback in the world of films because of her untainted name in the industry.
Her other credits include Mr. Destiny, Necessary Roughness, The Player, Amore, Loaded Weapon, and Backfire.
