Julie Benz Biography
In 1989, she began to think that its time to put an end to her figure ice skating career. It was then that she thought of shifting into acting. Her role in the stage play Street Law has lead to a first film appearance in Due Occhi Diabolicis The Black Cat episode. Her small participation on the said film in 1990 was acclaimed and credited. After a year, she played the hot Babs Nielson on the TV comedy Hi Honey, Im Home from 1991 to 1992.
When Julie Benz graduated from high school, she attended New York University where she studied acting. After her training, she transferred to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career in Planet Hollywood. She landed several small roles on films and TV programs.
Some of her credits include an appearance on the then hot TV serial Married with Children in 1987; another appearance on Cross Town Traffic in 1995; and a recurring role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 1997 as the sexy vampire Darla. That same year, she played a small yet memorable and remarkable role as a receptionist in the hit movie As Good As It Gets. In Angel (1999), a spin-off of Buffy, The Vampire Slayer, she reprised her role as Darla. Also in 1999, she auditioned for a role in the movie Eyes Wide Shut but has changed her mind because she realized that she does not want to do any topless seen on films.
On May 30, 1998, Julie Benz married actor, producer, assistant director John Kassir.
