Acclaimed Hollywood veteran actress Joey Lauren Adams was born on January 9, 1968 in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. She was best remembered for her unusual voice. Her debut on the big screen was when she was cast in the 1997 movie Exorcist II: The Heretic. However, she has decided to move to the glamorous world of Hollywood in 1988 with the hope of getting an acting career there for herself.

Reaching stardom has not been too easy for the sexy Joey Lauren Adams. She has done several TV appearances before she finally landed on films. In 1993 she has filmed a scene for Wayne's World 2, which was later deleted when the film was edited. That same year, she was cast in the films Coneheads as Christina, Dazed and Confused as Simone Kerr and The Program as Louanne.

She played as hot Alyssa Jones in the critically acclaimed film Chasing Amy in 1997. The song that she has sung in this film was personally written by her. While filming, she was romantically linked with Chasing Amy’s writer/director Kevin Smith. The two of them were seen dating together for several times. However, the hot issue ended when the airing of the film was over.

Joey Lauren Adams’ recognitions include winning the Chicago Film Critics’ Most Promising Actress award in 1997 for her performance in Chasing Amy. She also earned 2 more wins for the same role: in Sierra Award as Most Promising Actress; and in CFCA Award under the same category.

Aside from these wins, she has also received 2 nominations for the same role: Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical in Golden Globe; and Best Breakthrough Performance and Best Kiss in MTV Movie Award, which she has shared with Carmen Llywelyn.

In the year 2000, she was again credited for her acting talent when she won the Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Supporting Actress – Comedy. She also won and was nominated several times in MTV Movie Awards, Memphis Indie Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival and Women in Film Crystal Awards.

In 2003, Joey Lauren Adams was arrested in San Diego on suspicion of drunk driving. In 2005, she wrote and directed a film entitled Come Early Morning. It was among the 16 entries that have premiered in Sundance’s US Dramatic Competition. In 2006, she has moved from LA to Oxford, Mississippi for a change.
