During the early 1990s, Jenna Elfman appeared in several TV commercials before eventually landing TV gigs in shows suck as Roseanne, The Monroes, NYPD Blue and Murder One throughout 1995 to 1996. She also appeared in the NBC 1996 made-for-TV movie, Her Last Chance, where Jenna played a drug counselor. During that same year, Jenna Elfman landed a regular role in the Molly Ringwalk sitcom, Townies.
Although the sitcom Townies was short-lived, Jenna Elfmans role impressed ABC executives, which led to her own sitcom deal, Dhama & Greg. The popular sitcom ran from 1997 to 2002, which is the reason for her overnight popularity, earned her a Golden Globe Award and two Emmy Award nominations. In 1999, Jenna Elfman co-hosted the Emmy Awards with David Hyde Pierce. She also appeared in two episodes of Two and a half Men.
Aside from television gigs, Jenna Elfman also appeared in big Hollywood feature films such as EDtv, Krippendorfs Tribe, Looney Tunes: Back in Action and Keeping the Faith.
In 2004, Jenna Elfman starred and produced a feature film entitled, Touched. The following year, CBS announced that a new show called Courting Alex wherein Elfman would star in would premiere on January 2006. Unfortunately, the show was not picked up and was announced as cancelled in May of 2006. However, according to the Hollywood Reporter, CBS inked a new TV deal with Jenna Elfman to create a comedy vehicle for her.
In Mary 2006, Jenna Elfman visited her high school alma mater urging students to set career goals and inspiring them to persist in their chosen professions. She also appeared and supported the opening of a museum organized by the Citizens Commission on Human Rights with the theme, Psychiatry: An Industry of Death.
In February 1991, while attending a Sprite commercial audition, Jenna Elfman met actor Bodhi Elfman. Four years later, the couple got married. Director Richard Elfman became Jennas father-in-law, while acclaimed composer Danny Elfman her uncle-in-law. In January 2006, Jenna Elfman and her husband announced the expectancy of their first child. On July 23, 2007, Jenna gave birth to a son named Story Elias.
