Jenilee Harrison got a part in the show when Suzanne argued with the production about her salary and decided afterwards to leave. Since the character she was portraying here as the klutzy farm girl version of her cousin was very similar to the one she was replacing, the show was able to still use the scripts which are already written for Chrissy. Plus, Jenilee was able to blend well with her co-star John Ritter.
In spite of her hard work, she wasnt able to create that strong impact and stage presence that the hot actress Suzanne was able to create. This is why the show would still guest the actress in the tag of some episodes and her name was never removed from the billing until the midseason ended.
In Threes Companys sixth season, Jenilee Harrison was retained while another blonde roommate came named Terri Alden, a smart nurse played by Priscilla Barnes. In this season, Jenilee finally got star credits for herself although she has been appearing less frequently in the show. At the end of the season, her contract was no longer renewed. When the TV movie version of Threes Company was filmed, her character was portrayed by the sexy Liz Crawford.
In Dallas, a hit drama series which has been hot in the 80s, she played the role of Jamie Ewing Barnes. Her first appearance in the soap was marked by the episode entitled Jamie. She portrayed this recurring role until she has decided to leave the soap in 1986. She is best remembered in her portrayal in Dallas as the cunning wife of Cliff Barnes, the worst enemy of J.R. Ewing.
She was not seen much on films but playing as a prostitute in the movie Tank marked another memorable performance from her. She starred in this film alongside James Garner and C. Thomas Well.
To save her dying Hollywood career, Jenilee Harrison posed half nude on the June 1987 issue of the very controversial Playboy Magazine. In 1999, she guest starred in The 70s Show and when the year 2000 came, she appeared mostly on infomercials for the Ultimate Chopper.
Jenilee Harrison is married in real life to Bruce Oppenheim Cybill Shepherds ex-husband.
