In 1995, Jacinda Barrett was a cast of the MTV production of The Real World: London. After the success of The Real World, to sharpen her skill in acting, she decided to enroll herself at the prestigious British American Drama Academy. By 1997, she was seen in her first film role in Campfire Tales.
Due to her flare for language and training from the British American Drama Academy, Jacinda Barrett was then offered by Hollywood to play in more significant roles. In 2000, she landed a role in the thriller Urban Legend: Final Cut.
In 2003, Jacinda Barrett landed a role in The Human Stain which brought her the spotlight. In this film, where she played opposite big Hollywood stars Nicole Kidman and Anthony Hopkins, she did not have any problem with her nude scenes.
Jacinda Barrett was seen next in the hit romantic comedy, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. In this sequel to Bridget Jones’ Diary, she played opposite Hugh Grant and Renee Zellweger. Then she was seen next in the film, Ladder 49. In this film, a tribute to American firefighters, she starred opposite Joaquin Phoenix. Due to her towering height, she had to wear flats the entire film so that she will not tower over Phoenix.
In 2006, Jacinda Barrett was seen in several films including, School of Scoundrels, The Last Kiss, The Namesake and Poseidon. The year before that, she was seen in Ripley Underground, as Heloise Plisson. And of course in 2004, in Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and in Ladder 49.
In 2001, Jacinda Barrett was seen in seven episodes of Citizen Baines, where she played the role of Dori Baines. She was also seen in the four episodes of the series Bull, as Holly Cameron.
Jacinda Barrett was once engaged to Singled Out’s Chris Hardwick. In 2004, she married Gabriel Macht, with whom she now has a child named Satine Anais Geraldine. In 1997, she was among the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World by the People Magazine.
