Isla Lang Fisher, who is now popularly known as the hot and sexy Isla Fisher of Hollywood was born on February 3, 1976 in Muscat, the capital of the Middle Eastern nation of Oman. Her parents were Scottish; her father, who always encourages her, was a banker and her mother inspires her all the time with her novels.

Her family moved to Australia in the 1980 where she grew up together with her four brothers. Being the only girl in the family made Isla Fisher the center of attention of her household. This has not been too easy for her because her older brothers would sometimes pick on her, but this situation this also toughened her to face life. She is particularly close to her mother who have supported her in all her endeavors and played a major role in her career in films.

At the age of 9, Isla Fisher got her first break in show business when she appeared in a TV commercial. Her first commercial gig was as an extra in a lottery ad. This project was followed by several commercials which lead to an acting career on TV. Her debut as an actress took place in the serial Bay Cove in 1993. That same year, she also won a role in Paradise Beach.

She was offered the role of the hot and seductive Shannon Reed in the soap Home and which she played from 1994 until 1997. The sexy character in the show fueled men's fantasies and stirred their interest about the actress who is playing the role. This made her one of Hollywood’s hotties and the readers of FHM voted her in 1996 as the 11th sexiest woman in the world.

In 1996, Isla Fisher proved that there is more to her looks when she wrote the romance books Bewitched and Seduced by Fame, which both became hot sellers in Australia. Compelled by her desire to improve herself, she moved to England and started to grace the English Channel. She also attended an acting school in Paris and starred in the mini-series adaptation of Oliver Twist. She also landed on theatrical presentations and appeared several times in the kids’ show Scoop.

Her return to the US made her land on Dallas 362 in 2003 as Selma Blair.Her other credits in films include Scooby-Doo (2002), The Wannabes (2003), Heart Huckabees (2004), and The Wedding Crashers (2005).
