While still in high school, Haley studied acting and music and then later on to pursue a career in acting, she moved to Los Angeles. While having a vacation in Los Angeles, she was invited by a record producer to sing in front of roomful of important people in showbiz. This further encouraged her to pursue a career in showbiz and urged her mother to move to Los Angeles.
She then moved to Los Angeles, in 2005, with her mother, who supported her since she was still in her senior year in high school then. She then changed her name into Haley Bennett from Haley Keeling when she decided to pursue a career in showbiz.
Her first professional appearance was in the hit film Music and Lyrics in 2007. She played the role of Cora Corman and appeared alongside Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant. She sang most of the songs in the films soundtrack, including Way Back Into Love and Buddhas Delight. She also sang in several scenes in the movie, including the concert wherein she sang parts of Slam and Entering Bootytown. The song, Invincible, sang in the end credits of the movie was also hers.
When she landed the part in Music and Lyrics, Haley Bennett was offered a three picture deal with WB Pictures. She has finished shooting her next film entitled, College. She is next set to appear in the movie She Lived, where she will play the part of a child who grew up sane despite her mothers attempt at murdering her.
After showcasing her singing talent in the movie Music and Lyrics, Halley Bennett found the opportunity to do and then later on release her own album. At present Haley is busy working on her first album with the help of singer and songwriter Shaley Scott. She has signed up with Epic Records 550 Music / NuSound Records earlier in 2007 for her album.
