In 1990, Gwyneth Paltrow started her career in the film, Shout. She later had a small role in Steven Spielbergs 1991 film, Hook, where she played the young Wendy. She also appeared in Malice and Flesh & Bone. It was in 1995 that Gwyneth Paltrow became a Hollywood star when she played opposite Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt in the suspense movie, Se7en. The following year, she starred in the 1996 film, Emma, where she received critical acclaim in Hollywood for her performance and in the UK for her impressive English accent.
In 1998, Gwyneth Paltrow played the leading role in Shakespeare in Love, which earned $100 in box office receipts in the U.S. alone. The movie won multiple awards in the Golden Globes and Academy Award, but Gwyneth Paltrow won the award for Outstanding Performance from the Screen Actors Guild and a Best Actress Award from the Oscar.
The sexy Gwyneth Paltrows Oscar award led to several leading roles in the big screen, including in A Perfect Murder, The Talented Mr. Ripley and Bounce. She also appeared in low-profile movies, such as Royal Tenenbaums, Sylvia and Proof. Gwyneth Paltrow also played the hilarious film opposite Jack Black in Shallow Hal and in the movie, View from the Top.
Aside from acting and some singing, Gwyneth Paltrow is also the spokesperson of Estee Lauders Pleasures perfume. She is also an active member of the Robin Hood Foundation, an organization that aims to help problems caused by poverty in New York City.
Gwyneth Paltrow had been in a three-year relationship with Brad Pitt, where the two were engaged, but broke up. She has also been linked romantically with Luke Wilson, Ben Affleck, Chris Heinz and Robert Sean Leonard. On December 5, 2003, Gwyneth Paltrow was married to Chris Martin from the band Coldplay. They have a daughter named Apple Blythe Alison Martin who was born on May 14, 2004.
