Gemma Atkinson was born in Bury, Greater Manchester, England on November 16, 1984. She was educated at Castlebrook High School, where she has been very active in various school activities. Being an avid sports fan since her childhood, she participated in her school’s athletic events. As a student, she has been extremely popular and numerous friends surrounded her.
Aside from sports, Gemma Atkinson was also interested in modeling and acting. Her mom was the one who introduced her to the acting and modeling world by deceiving her one day that she will bring her to the dentist; only to find out that they are really heading for the Hollyoaks audition. Passing the audition earned her the role of Lisa Hunter on the acclaimed TV serial.
Her portrayal in Hollyoaks (2001) marked her rise to instant fame.. Being young at 17, she has been adored by fans and pursued by boys who wanted to win her heart but cannot pick a lineup with her.
Because of the hot success of the show Hollyoaks, the producers of the show launched Hollyoaks: After Hours in 2004. This marked the transformation of Gemma Atkinson from a teenage actress into a sex symbol. After the show was dismissed, it was replaced by Hollyoaks: Let Loose and afterwards, Hollyoaks: In the City. In all these series, she portrayed sexy and revealing roles. Of course, while these spin-off shows are running, she still plays as Lisa Hunter in the main serial Hollyoaks.
After several years, she has decided to enhance her busts in order to create a more appealing look. Because of her lovely and hot physical assets, a lot of photographers have been interested to place her on prints. Therefore, she was seen on almost every English magazine which includes Arena, Zoo Weekly, Maxim and Loaded.
Aside from receiving exposures in acting and modeling, she also has passion for writing. She writes for the sex and relationships column of Zoo Weekly.
