Gabrielle Union was born Gabrielle Monique Union on the 29th of October 1972 in Omaha, Nebraska. She is recognized for her role in Bring it On where she appeared opposite Kirsten Dunst. She is also seen in Will Smith’s hit film Bad Boys II.

Although born in Nebraska, Gabrielle and her family transferred to Pleasanton, California when she was eight years old. She attended the Foothill High School and played an all star point guard. She also participated in track, basketball and soccer. In high school she dated Jason Kidd of the New Jersey Nets. After high school, Gabrielle Union planned to become a lawyer. She tried two schools, the University of Nebraska and the Cuesta College, before transferring to UCLA where she earned her Sociology degree. While attending UCLA she did some modeling jobs to help pay her college loan. This paved the way for her modeling career.

Gabrielle Union also appeared in several minor movie roles, such as in Love and Basketball and 10 Things I Hate About You. Then in 200, she got the role of cheerleader Isis in the movie Bring it On. In this movie she appeared opposite Kirsten Dunst. This led to her role in the CBS drama City of Angels. In this television drama, Gabrielle Union played the character of Dr. Courtney Ellis. Then she was next seen in the movie Bad Boys II, the sequel to Will Smith hit film Bad Boys. She played the character of Will Smith’s girlfriend. The film was a box office hit and grossed more than $270 million worldwide.

In 2003, Gabrielle Union landed her first starring role in the movie Deliver Us From Eva. She appeared with L.L. Cool J. The following year, she appeared opposite Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx in the movie Breaking’ All the Rules. In 2005, Gabrielle Union was seen in another television series Night Stalker. She also starred in the independent film Neo Ned which led to another independent film Constellation. And still in 2005 she was in the remake of the movie The Honeymooners. She appeared opposite Cedric The Entertainer.

In 2006, she appeared in the video of I Love My Chick. Gabrielle Union was seen in the 2007 film, Daddy’s Little Girls. That same year, she got the 2nd spot in the list of Hottest Women in Hollywood by the Mumzies. People Magazine also named her as Most Likely to become the next Mega Star.

In 2001 Gabrielle Union married Jacksonville Jaguar’s Chris Howard. Then they separated in 2005 and got divorced in 2006.
