Even as a child, Fearne Cotton was already into performing and was already attending ballet lessons at the young age of five. When she was ten, she was already enjoying her weekend drama training. Her major break was in the national talent search for which she was discovered.
In 1998, when she was 16, Frarne landed a presenting stint in The Disney Club program in GMTV in 1998. Diggit soon followed, where she appeared opposite Paule Des Ballard. Several children shows followed including Draw Your Own Toons bu CITV and the series Mouse.
In 2002, alongside Stephen Mulhern, Fearne Cotton presented the arts and crafts show for children, Finger Tips. After being with ITV for several years, she was then seen on CBBC. She presented the Eureka TV, the childrens science show and Smile, the Sunday morning programme. Then she was given the task of presenting The Saturday Show of BBC.
In 2003, Fearne Cotton became the presenter of Top of the Pop: Saturday, alongside Simon Grant. The show was later renamed Top of the Pops: Reloaded. Then she became its main presenter from 2004 to 2006. Every week she had a guest star, who became her co-presenter. When the program was cancelled in 2006 due to poor rating, she was unavailable since she had been shooting Love Island for ITV1.
In 2003, Fearne Cotton was in Comic Relief Does Fame Academy. In 2005, she returned to Comic Relief for the telethon Red Nose Day; and again she returned in 2007 as presenter alsongside Lenny Henry and Jonathan Ross.
Fearne Cotton was the presenter of 2005 Live 8, which became the highlight of her career. The same year, she hosted the Children in Need, the BBC annual telethon. She appeared alongside Natasha Kaplinsky and Sir Terry Wogan. The following year she was again tasked to host the telethon.
Still in 2005, Fearne Cotton became a part of Radio 1 when she became the presenter of the morning slot every Friday alongside Reggie Yates, with whom she had worked with in Only in America and Top of the Pops.
In 2007, she and Regie teamed up again in Chart Show on Radio 1, replacing JK & Joel. The same year, she hosted the Making Your Mind Up 2007 alongside Terry Wogan.
