Eva Mendes was born on March 5, 1975 in Miami, Florida. Raised in Los Angeles by Cuban-American parents, Eva Mendes had Catholic upbringing, which led to her aspirations of becoming a nun. She attended Hoover High School in California and later pursued a Marketing degree at the California State University, Northridge. She dropped out of college to pursue an acting career and studied with Ivana Chubbuck.

Just like other Hollywood actors today, Eva Mendes worked her way up by appearing in commercials and music videos. She appeared in Aerosmith’s video for “Hole in My Soul” and Will Smith’s video “Miami”. She also guest starred in TV soap operas and small roles in films.

By the start of the new millennium, Eva Mendes appeared in several movies including, A Night at the Roxbury, Exit Wounds, All About the Benjamins and 2 Fast 2 Furious. However, her acting talent was noticed when she appeared in the critically acclaimed movie, Training Day. Her role in this award winning film led to roles in Stuck on You and Once Upon a Time in Mexico alongside Hollywood big shots like Antonio Banderas, Johnny Depp and Selma Hayek. Her role in Once Upon a Time in Mexico gave her a nomination at the Teen Choice Awards.

In 2005, Eva Mendes received a leading role in the comedy flick, “Hitch” alongside Will Smith. In the same year, the hot and sexy Eva also appeared in two other movies, The Wendell Baker Story and 3 & 3. In 2007, Eva Mendes costarred with Nicolas Cage in the movie adaptation of “Ghost Rider” where she played the love interest of the rider. She also appeared in the film, We Own the Night, playing alongside Mark Wahlberg, Robert Duvall and Joaquin Phoenix. Eva Mendes will appear on the 2008 films, “Cleaner” and “The Women” as well as the 2009 film, “The Spirit”.

Aside from acting, the beautiful Eva Mendes is the spokesmodel for Revlon, having been compared to Cindy Crawford’s beauty. She has also successfully written a children’s book. This sexy Latina has been ranked #7 in the 2007 Maxim’s Hot 100 issue. She has also been the cover for Maxim magazine twice, the latest was in November 2007. Despite the fame and glamour, Eva Mendes gravitated towards marketing and interior design, instead of focusing on Hollywood films.
