Esther Canadas Biography
In her interview with The Tonight Show host Jay Leno, Esther Canadas told Jay that when she was fourteen years old she already wanted to become a model. She then tried to move out of their house to pursue her dream of modeling but her father caught her and refused to let her go. Then, according to Esther, after a year of constant whining, her father had no choice but to let her go.
At the age of fifteen, Esther Canadas left her home and went to Barcelona on her own and started working. Since then she had been working in Spain, Paris, Sweden and the United States as a model. Esther modeled for top designers including, Givenchy, Versace, Gucci, Calvin Klein, Yves Saint Laurent, Moschino, Channel, Dolche & Gabanna, Michael Kors, Alexander Mc Queen and Valentino. With working for the different designers across the globe, Esther Canadas realized that modeling was something more than a job. She begun to truly love and appreciate her place in it.
Esther Canadas said that her work as a model gave her the chance to see the world although she had to admit that at times it is very lonely. She said that moving from different places constantly can be quite stressful and lonesome. She said that the lifestyle of a model calls for her inner strength.
In 1996 Esther Canadas moved to New York. Just two days after moving in she was immediately booked by more than fifteen designers. Since her move to New York she has done ad campaigns for Gianfranco Ferre, Saks Fifth Avenue, Victorias Secret, Atelier Versace and Donna Karan. She is most known for her campaign for DKNY. Her face has graced the cover of many magazines including Vogue Spain, Marie Claire Italy, Vogue Espana, Mondo Uomo and Mademoiselle.
In 1999, Esther Canadas made her first film debut in the romance action film The Thomas Crown Affair. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.
According to Esther, her figure is very natural since she never had to do any exercise. She also does not need to go on a diet. At present, Esther Canadas is active on her many charity works.
