Emmanuelle Seigner was born on the 22nd of June 1996 in Paris, France. Her mother was one of the respected journalists in Paris while her father was also a respected photographer. Her grandfather was the famed French actor, Louis Seigner while her sister, Mathilde Seigner, was also a famed actress. In 1989, she married film director, Roman Polanski and had two children with him.

As a child, Emmanuelle was raised in a Catholic faith and attended a Catholic convent school. However, despite her very traditional schooling, she pursued a career in modeling at the young age of 14. She became a very successful model and this eventually lead to several acting roles.

Emmanuelle Seigner's first professional film appearance was in 1984, in the romantic film Year of the Jellyfish. Then she appeared opposite Harrison Ford in her husband’s film Frantic, in 1989. She played the missing wife to Harrison Ford’s character. She was then seen in the film Detective by Jean Luc Godard. In 1992, she was again seen in another Polanski film, Bitter Moon.

In 1998, Emmanuelle Seigner landed the role in the drama Place Vendome. For her portrayal, she was nominated by the Cesar Award for Best Supporting Actress. Then in 1999, she appeared again in her husband’s film The Ninth Gate, where she appeared opposite Johnny Depp. The same year she was also seen in Buddy Boy. Then in 2003, in the film Corps a corps, she played the role of a stripper who discovered her husband’s secret as she tried to escape the world of a stripper. The same year, Emmanuelle Seigner showcased another highly acclaimed performance in the film Os Imortais.

Emmanuelle Seigner was also seen in the video Hands Around My Throat by Death in Vegas. Then in 2006, she became the lead singer of the band Ultra Orange. The band was then renamed Ultra Orange and Emmanuelle.
