Emma Samms rose to fame when she joined the long running daytime soap General Hospital. She was a regular member of the cast from the years 1982 to 1985. She reprised her role in General Hospital in 1992 to 1993 and then again in 2006. She played the character of Holly Sutton Scorpio and the character of the heroic revolutionary, Paloma, Holly’s look-alike sister. Her partner in the show was Tristan Roger who played the role of Robert.
From daytime soap, Emma Samms landed a role in prime time hit soap Dynasty in 1985. She played the character of Fallon Carrington Colby, replacing Pamela Sue Martin. Her role in Dynasty was an introduction of her character in the Dynasty spin off series The Colbys. She stayed with The Colbys for the two seasons it lasted on air. When The Colbys was cancelled she returned to Dynasty. She was in the last two seasons of Dynasty and Dynasty: The Reunion, the miniseries.
In 1995, Emma Samms got the villain role of Grayson Louder in another primetime soap opera Models, Inc. In 2003, she returned to London and appeared in BBC’s Holby City. She was in Holby City for four seasons. Then she joined the daytime BBC series Doctors. In 2006, she returned to General Hospital. The fans did not like the out of character role the writers gave her but the love team she had with Tristan Rogers was still a hit.
In 2006, Emma Samms and Tristan Rogers was a presenter at the Daytime Emmy Awards 2006. Then she was seen as a hairdresser on the reality show Celebritiy Scissorhands by the BBC Children in Need. In 2007 she appeared in the long running television series, The Bill. In The Bill, she played the role of Ella Winstanley, a drug addict.
Emma Samms also appeared in several films including Arabian Adventure, Goliath Awaits, Ellis Island, The Shrimp on Barbie, Bejewelled, Delirious, Robin Cook’s Harmful Intent, Treacherous Beauties, Pretend You Don’t See Her, The Marksman and Supernova.
At present, Emma Samms resides in England. During the days of Dynasty she lived in Los Angeles. She was married trice and has two children from her last marriage.
