Emily Procter grew up in Raleigh and graduated from Ravenscroft School. She earned her degree in Dance and Journalism at the East Carolina University. She was also anchored at Greenville, North Carolina’s WNCT-TV. Emily planned to take theatre at the university but the theatre department head told her that she would never make it as an actress and should then think of another career. After earning her degree from the East Carolina University, Emily then moved to Los Angeles and enrolled in an acting school.
While completing her two-year acting course, Emily Procter landed several roles in the big screen. This included a small role in the 1996 movie Jerry Maguire and the 1997 film Breast Men. She played opposite Friends star David Schwimmer in Breast Men. She was also offered roles in television and appeared in the third season of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Spiderman. In 1997 she was seen in the movie made for televion, The Dukes of Hazard: Reunion. In both her appearances in the film Breast Men and in the television series Lois & Clark, Emily had topless scenes.
Emily Procter had a recurring role in the hit drama series The West Wing. She played the role of Ainsley Hayes, an associate White House Counsel. She is also one of the main casts of the hit television series CSI: Miami. She plays the role of Calleigh Duquesne and appears opposite David Carruso.
At present, whenever she is not busy with work, Emily Procter spends her time interior decorating and collecting antiques. Her 1921 Spanish style house is furnished with her collections. She is also a fan of poker and has been in the celebrity poker tournament. She also performs with her band whenever her schedule permits.
