Elizabeth Jane Hurley was born on June 10, 1965 in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England. She is of Irish and Anglican descent. She has an older sister named Debbie and a younger brother Michael. As a child, Elizabeth Hurley took ballet classes. She studied at Kempshott Junior and Infants School, Harriet Costello School and Queen Mary’s College, where she attended for only a year. She continued her studies at the Basingstoke College of Technology before winning a scholarship at the London Studio Center.

In 1980, Elizabeth Hurley joined and won a “Face of the Year” competition, where she gained recognition and successfully securing a modeling contract with a London modeling firm as grand prize. Seven years later, she appeared in her film debut in the 1987 film, Aria. However, it was in her role in the TV drama “Christabel” that gave her media attention.

Elizabeth Hurley appeared in a few low-budget Hollywood and British films, including Passenger 57, Rumpole of the Bailey and The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. In 1987, Elizabeth Hurley worked on a Spanish production entitled, “Remando Al Viento” co-starring Hugh Grant, which ignited a long-term romantic relationship.

In 1994, Hugh Grant and Elizabeth Hurley attended the premiere of “Four Weddings and a Funeral”, wherein she wore a black plunging Versace dress that held together with gold safety pins. Hurley’s dress became a part of history in the modeling world. Popular media referred to Elizabeth Hurley’s attire as simply ‘that dress”. She was noticed by the cosmetics giant Estee Lauder and began to work as their spokesperson by 1995. She renewed her contract with the company in 2007 for the 13th year.

Aside from modeling, Elizabeth Hurley was cast alongside Mike Myers in the 1997 spy comedy, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. She reprised her role as Vanessa in the 1999 sequel, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. She also starred in several other films, such as EdTV, Double Whammy, Bedazzled, Serving Sara and her latest film, Method.

After a 13-year relationship with Hugh Grant, Elizabeth Hurley separated with Grant in 2000. In October of 2000, she began a relationship with multi-millionaire producer Stephen Bing. Although the couple separated, Elizabeth Hurley revealed that she was pregnant with Bing’s child. Bing questioned the paternity publicly and disputed Hurley’s faithful relationship. On April 4, 2002, she gave birth to a son named Damian Charles Hurley and conducted a DNA test that proved Bing was the father of the child.

On March 2, 2007, Elizabeth Hurley married Indian businessman Arun Nayar in a secret ceremony at Gloucestershire. The festivities continued in India where the couple celebrated a Hindu marriage.
