Eliza Dushku is both Albanian and Danish blooded. This lady who was raised in a Mormon household was spotted by producers when she accompanied her brother in a commercial audition. She was educated at the Watertown High and regards her mother, who was a Boston college professor as the biggest influence of her life. Eliza is always proud to say that her mother is a confident woman whos got a very cool attitude and that she really idolizes her.
The young Eliza Dushku was rumored to have studied both dancing and singing lessons. She was also often seen in childrens theater doing the sign for the audience who are deaf. Her life began to change when she was chosen to play the role of Alice Bloom in her first film That Night (1993) at the young age of 12. At present, in spite of her young age, she was already considered as a veteran of both the small and big screen.
Eliza Dushku has played several roles in acclaimed films and has co-starred with some of the notable actors in Hollywood such as Robert De Niro, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Leonardo DiCaprio. Aside from her debut film That Night, her other film credits include This Boys Life (1993), Wrong Turn (2003), True Lies (1994), Journey (1995), Race the Sun (1996), Bring It On (2000), Soul Survivors (2001), Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001), The New Guy (2002), City by the Sea (2002) and The Kiss (2003).
When she was nearly 18 years old and a fresh graduate of high school, Eliza Dushku auditioned for Buffy, the Vampire Slayer where she landed the role of Faith, the vampire slayer who gets more trouble than Buffy. Her role in this famed show was supposed to be for a short stint only but because her character won the hearts of the audience, cast and crew, the role became recurring and lasted from 1998 to 1999.
Eliza Dushku, who was ranked in 2002 as the 13th in Maxims hot 100, considered her brother Nate as her best friend. In the year 2004, she was nominated for her role in Tru Calling. Her nominations were as Best Actress in a Television Series for Saturn Awards and as Choice Breakout TV Star (Female Category) for Teen Choice Award.
