Her debut on the big screen was in a feature film Dancing on the Moon in 1997. This was followed by several other Canadian films such as Airspeed. In 2001 she starred in the TV movie Lucky Girl wherein she bagged home a Gemini Award for her performance. Upon moving to Los Angeles, Elisha Cuthbert was cast in the role of Kim Bauer, daughter of agent Jack Bauer in the hit series 24. She was in the shows first three seasons but not on its 4th. She then made guest appearances on the shows 5th season as well as reprised her role in 24: The Game.
In Hollywood, Elisha Cuthbert first landed on minor roles in movies such as Old School and Love Actually. Her first lead role was in the movie The Girl Next Door, where she played the role of an ex-porn star, sharing the screen with Emile Hirsch. Her next movie was the classic horror House of Wax, opposite Paris Hilton and Chad Michael Murray, which was universally panned by critics.
Elisha Cuthbert then worked on the indie film The Quiet. The movie premiered at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival and received a limited release in New York City and Los Angeles. Her most recent work was in the movie Captivity in 2007. She as well appeared on Paris Hiltons music video Nothing in this World Matters.
Her blooming looks and sexy body led Elisha Cuthbert to secure ranks in FHM and Maxims annual Top 100 Sexiest/Hottest lists. Her highest ranking was #5 in the 2005 UK Edition of FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World list. She was ranked #14 in 2003, #10 in 2004, #22 in 2006, and #10 in 2007. The U.S. Edition ranked her #53 in 2003, #63 in 2004, and #54 in 2006. She was not listed in the U.S. 2005 list. Maxim magazine named her #92 in its 2006 Hot 100 list, and features her in their Girls of Maxim Gallery.
During her free time, Elisha Cuthbert enjoys painting and is a fan of the Los Angeles Kings.
