Elena Anaya Biography
Elena Anaya did not show much interest in her studies, so she left Cadiz School in 1996. She chose to join Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramatico de Madrid (RESAD) and took up the course of interpretation and studied under actor Manuel Moron.
Elena Anaya's first casting was for the film of Alfonso Ungria, entitled Africa in 1996. Although Elena passed the entrance test in RESAD, she was expelled, because she was not able to attend classes for months when director Fernando Leon de Aranoa called her to participate in the comedy film, Familia, also in 1996. Wanting to be a good actress, she continued her learning at the school of interpretation of actor Juan Carlos Corazza.
Then on, Elena Anaya appeared in few drama movies such as Lagrimas negras in 1998, Finisterre and Huellas borradas, Las in 1999. In 2001, Elena played the role of a young seducer in the erotic drama Lucia y el sexo (Sex and Lucia). Her beauty and skills in acting captured the attention of spectators. The film acquired nine nominations in Goya awards where one is her nomination for the Best Supporting Actress category. She also won the prize in the same category in the Spanish Actors Union award.
With Elena Anaya's growing success in acting, she has starred in several movies like Sin noticias de Dios, a film that obtained 11 nominations of Goya awards. Hable con Ella, Rencor, and a romance drama, Habitacion Azul La, are just a few to mention. Her role in the comedy, Dos Tipos duros in 2003, opened her way to the UK-Germany co-production Dead Fish, a thriller with Gary Oldman In 1994.
Elena Anaya was well known for the movie of Van Helsing where she played the role of Aleera, one of Count Draculas brides. Acting in Hollywood was not really a part of her plans but she was enticed due to the glamour of the movies. In 2006, she was featured in Justin Timberlakes music video for Sexy Back. With all the passion and love for her work and success in her career, Elena keeps on trying to improve her craft.
