Edwige Fenech is an Italian actress and film producer born on December 24, 1948, Bône, French Algeria. She is of Maltese and Sicilian descent, and is best known as the undisputed icon of Italy’s sex comedy. She began her career as a sexy model during the 1970s. Even before venturing the world of cinema, Edwige Fenech is already an established pin-up girl and has posed for various erotic magazines. She then made a brief acting stint in Germany during this time, but she then returned to Italy to work on her local career.

As the genre of Italian cinema took a turn towards horror flicks and thrillers, Edwige Fenech became the star of sex comedies such as Five Dolls for an August Moon, Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key, and The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh, most of which were directed by Sergio Martino. Not long after she too have engaged in the horror film trend, starring in many thriller movies directed by Dario Argento.

Edwige Fenech also became active on television; hence she appeared on an Italian chat show together with Barbara Bouchet. She then became busy doing movie production, and during these years she was able to produce The Merchant of Venice with Al Pacino. Edwige Fenech made a comeback to the big screen when she accepted Quentin Tarantino’s movie Hostel 2, which was directed by Eli Roth.
