While filming Wicker Park, she then sent a video tape of herself to Warner Bros. in order to audition for the role of Helen in Wolfgang Petersen’s Troy. She was then invited to do a screen test and eventually got the part. The production company however remarked that she was too thin for the role and suggested that she must gain at least seven kilos before filming. Diane Kruger then started eating lots of food which paid off well in the end.

The success of Troy led to bigger and better film offers, and she was considered Hollywood’s Next Best Thing. Diane Kruger then starred opposite Nicolas Cage in National Treasure, and is now off to star alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar in the horror flick Addicted, scheduled to be released in 2008.
