This award winning actress appeared on a number of shows such as Emergency and The Young and the Restless before joining Days of our Lives in 1976 as Dr. Marlena Evans. She also played Jesse Witherspoon on the family drama Our House that ran for two seasons before exiting in Days of our Lives in 1987 due to hectic schedule. It has become difficult for to juggle her primetime and daytime schedules. But to much delight of her fans, Deidre Hall returned to NBC-TVs number one daytime program Days of Our Lives in August 1991 with her role as Dr. Marlena Evans. Deidres twin sister also played with her in this show as her evil twin.
Deidre Hall won the prestigious America Women in Radio and Television (AWRT) award in 1994. She was also named Best Television Role Model. Deidre bagged no less than five Best Actress awards from Soap Opera Digest in four consecutive years from 1982-85, and again in 1995. Among her laurels are Daytime Emmy Award and TV Land Award nominations, and of course her numerous wins in Soap Opera Digest.
This fabulous down to earth actress has a big heart for the less fortunate, involved in numerous charities. Deidre Hall is involved in the Habitat for Humanity as well as PATH (People Assisting the Homeless); a recipient of a noble award, the Family Support Award from Habitat of Humanity. Due to her passion to help others, Deidre Hall authored the Days of Our Lives Celebrity Cookbook to benefit St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
The Hallmark Company chose her to be the spokesperson for their card line called To Kids with Love. Deirdre had two sons from the same surrogate mother, David Atticus and Tully Chaplin.
Deidre Hall also speaks for the Dexatrim weight loss products, Exfole skin care products, and baby Genius child development program. She has her own line of jewelry called The Timeless Collection that includes fabulous looking necklaces, bracelets, pins, earrings, and watches.
