Wholesome actress Dawn Wells was born on October 18, 1938 in Reno Nevada, USA to a homemaker mother and a real estate developer father. Her father was once the owner of The Las Vegas Thunderbird Hotel. She grew up in a picturesque house with fruit yard and vegetable garden, thanks to her mother's green thumb. Dawn grew up riding horses and tending her mother’s garden.

Dawn Wells had a busy high school where in she was a President of a debating club, class treasurer, and a consistent honor student. Dawn Wells did what most young girls of her age only dream of doing which is joining a pageant show. She won Miss Nevada in 1959 and went on to join the Miss America Pageant.

After high school, Dawn Wells, whose original dream was to become a doctor, attended medical school in the elite Stephen's College in Columbia Missouri but later fell in love acting when she joined the drama club. To pursue her theater career, she left med school and attended the University of Washington's Theatre Department where she graduated with a degree in theaters.

Dawn Wells moved to Hollywood and debuted on television in 1964 when she played the role Mary Ann Summers in CBS’s Gilligan's Island 1964. Her character in Gilligan’s Island inspired the Band called Squirt Band to launch a song entitled Mary Ann. She also appeared in the video of this song.

Her appearance in the show was followed by more projects. Dawn Wells was never out of work even after the show ended. She was seen performing in more than 60 theatrical productions which include the National Touring Company of They're Playing Our Song! She has also done numerous voiceover jobs and commercials as well as talk shows.

Dawn Wells, whose first love is acting, debuted on the big screen with the film Winterhawk in 1964. Her other film credits include The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1976), Return to Boggy Creek ( 1977 ), High School U.S.A. ( 1983 ), Evil Lives (1992), Super Sucker (2003).

Aside from being a busy celebrity, Dawn Wells also has her mind on business. She opened her own clothing line that she called Wishing Wells Collections that is meant for people with disability. Recently, she launched her own line of skin care products that she called Classic Beauty.

In 2004 Dawn Wells won the Pop Culture Award from TV Land Awards for Gilligan's Islands. She also has an acting class in her Wyoming ranch for young people who are interested in this craft.

Dawn Wells married former agent Larry Rosen in 1964, but their marriage ended in divorce in 1967.
