Crystal Bernard is an American singer and actress born on September 30, 1961 in Garland, Texas. She has discovered her talent in singing at a very young age and began singing gospel songs with her sister, Robyn Bernard. During this time of their career, the Bernard sisters recorded the song ‘The Monkey Song’, which was an ode to the objection to evolution that was part of Jerry Falwell’s service at the Thomas Road Baptist Church in 1972.

She, who was then a rising performer, developed her passion in singing and acting at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas. Afterwards she attended the Baylor University and studied international relations and acting.

Crystal Bernard made her jumpstart on television with the long-running sitcom Happy Days, where she played the role of K.C. Cunningham. Afterwards she made guest appearances on several TV shows, and it wasn’t long before she became part of the cast of the sitcom It’s a Living. Despite having a major role however, Crystal Bernard became most known on the popular comedy series, Wings. In Wings she was known as Helen Chappel Hackett, a strong-willed airport lunch-counter operator. She stayed on the show all throughout its seven-year long duration, from 1990 to 1997.

Before wings, Crystal Bernard appeared in the film Young Doctors in Love, as well as Slumber Party Massacre 2. Later in the 21st century, she took part in the film Jackpot, which won an Independent Spirit Award. She also starred in the movie Welcome to Paradise.

Crystal Bernard has been active in theater as well, and after working on Wings, she has been active in various theater productions including the Los Angels production of Crimes of the Heart in 1999, the Marquis Theatre revival of Annie Get Your Gun in 2001 playing the role of Annie Oakley, and Barbra’s Wedding during its 2005 West Coast premiere at the Falcon Theatre in Burbank, California. In Barbra’s Wedding, Crystal Bernard starred alongside actor/playwright Daniel Stern.

Aside from acting on stage and television, Crystal Bernard is also a singer and songwriter. Among her albums are The Girl Next Door, which was released in 1996 followed by Don’t Touch Me There in 1999. She also made a duet with Peter Cetera in the song (I Wanna Take) Forever Tonight that was included in his album Once Clear Voice.
