Cote de Pablo is a Latin-American film, stage and television actress born in Santiago, Chile on November 12, 1979. At the age of 10, her family moved to Miami, Florida where she spent the rest of her growing up years. She attended the Arvida Middle School in Miami, and soon after graduating from high school, Cote de Pablo moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and studied at the Carnegie Mellon University. She graduated with a degree in musical theater in 2000. While in college, Cote de Pablo became part of various theater productions including Indiscretions, The Fantasticks, The House of Bernarda Alba, A Little Night Music, And The World Goes ‘Round and Cloud Tectonics.

In 1994, this sexy Latina actress became the host of the show Control together with Carlos Ponce, host of Entertainment Tonight, making it her first foray on television. She was then known under the name Maria Jose de Pablo. In 2001, Cote de Pablo took part in the Shakespeare play Measure for Measure, which was held at the New York City Public Theater. She later took on small roles on several television series and sitcoms, as well as a notable guest appearance in the show The Education of Max Bickford, where she was able to work with award winning actors such as Richard Dreyfuss, Marcia Gay Harden, Regina Taylor, Katee Sackhoff and Helen Shaver.

Cote de Pablo, who was now one of the hottest Latina actresses on American television, took on the role of Marguerite Cisneros in the series The Jury in 2004. The following year, she made her debut on Broadway as Dolores Fuentes in theater adaptation of The Mambo Kings. She also starred in the said musical during its tour at the Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco, California.

In 2006, Cote de Pablo joined the cast of the series NCIS on its third season, where she played the role of Mossad Officer Ziva David. Among her co-stars were Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly, David McCallum, Sean Murray, Pauley Perette and Lauren Holly. She was first credited as a guest star in the show, and after a few more appearances, she became a regular member if the cast.
