Christa Miller is an American actress born on May 28, 1964 in New York City. Her father, Chuck Miller, is an aeronautical engineer, and she grew up in the streets of Manhattan. Her career began at a very young age when she and her mother, model Bonnie Trompeter, were in an advertisement for Ivory Snow. Before that she has already been in a Wonder Bread commercial when she was a baby, and as a toddler she posed for Francesco Scavullo. She was as well photographed for the cover of Redbook. However, her flourishing career as a child model was put into a halt when she suffered a benign bone tumor.

After overcoming her illness, Christa Miller attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart. She went back to modeling, but by then she was already interested and pursued acting lessons until eventually she abandoned modeling for good. In 1990, Christa Miller moved to Los Angeles, California to venture on an acting career.

Christa Miller’s first television was on the series Kate & Allie in 1984, where she made guest appearances opposite her real-life aunt, Susan Saint James, star of Love at First Bite. The transition from being a teenage print ad model into an actress was not that difficult for Christa Miller, as her Kate & Allie stint was soon followed by Northern Exposure, Party of Five, Seinfeld, and the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. With her pretty face and sexy figure, Christa Miller was able to achieve television stardom in 1995 when she was tapped to take on the role of Kate O’Brien, gal pal of comedian Drew Carey in his hit TV series The Drew Carey Show. She stayed on the show until 2001.

Not long after, Christa Miller became known this time as hospital board member Jordan Sullivan in the medical comedy sitcom Scrubs opposite Zach Braff. She remained in Scrubs for a number of seasons and established herself as one of regular faces that could be found on primetime television. She as well provided the voice of Cleopatra in her husband Bill Lawrence’s short-lived animation program, Clone High.

She is the first celebrity to appear on the cover of Maxim magazine (America).

Christa Miller and Bill Lawrence have three children, Sarah, William Stoddard, and Henry Vanduzer.
