Chloe Annett has also appeared in some episodes of the children’s drama series Byker Grove, in which her fatger also directed. Her family has always been supportive of the career she chose, given that they belong to the same field as well. Her mother, Margo Annett, is a well known actress, voice expert and author of the book An Actor’s Guide to Auditions and Interviews. Her brother on the other hand, Jamie Annett, also became a director of EastEnders.
Chloe Annett first spent doing bit roles in British films and TV series, but upon moving to the United States she bagged a major role in the TV mini series, Danielle Steel’s Jewels in 1992. Going back to England in 1997, she bagged the lead role of Holly Turner in the series Crime Traveller co-starring Michael French who played the role of Jeff Slade. The series garnered good reviews, but due to financial constraints, BBC has not renewed the show for another season.
She then hit stardom in the British series Red Dwarf. In Red Dwarf, Chloe Annett played the role of Kristine Kochanski, a navigation officer from an alternative dimension. She then cohabits with Dave, was killed in a radiation leak while she was in stasis. Chloe Annett only had auburn hair in Red Dwarf because the wash in, wash out hair coloring kit that she bought during the shoot did not washed out. She also recalls that her hair also had a very wavy look because she had a microphone attached to her head. Her role was originally played by actress Clare Grogan.
Chloe Annett is married to Alec McKinlay, manager of the famous rock band Oasis. She as well as her mother, is active in the Cameron McKintosh foundation.
