Charlotte Ayannas life as a child is full of agony. Her family transferred to Vermont in the year 1977. Her mother has been suffering from mental imbalance and was unable to take care of them. Therefore, the Social and Rehabilitation Services of Vermont took Charlotte and her other siblings and each of them were placed in different foster homes.
While studying, Charlotte Ayanna did her best to maintain high grades and when she grew up, she joined a home group for children in crisis and became a spokesperson for foster children. In August 1992, she joined the Miss Vermont Teen USA Pageant and she was crowned as Miss Teen USA.
Her dream came true when she was adopted by Al and Jill on March 7, 1994. She was then reunited with her brother and sister from whom she was separated when they were still small children.
Charlotte Ayanna went to college at the University of California in Irvine where she changed her surname from Lopez to Ayanna. She has chosen Ayanna as her last name because in Cherokee, Ayanna means blessed.
Being Miss Teen USA, Charlotte Ayanna was able to help her land by appearing on several TV shows such as Weird Science. However, her career on television did not endure. After some time, the famed Mexican Ricky Martin picked her up among hundreds of pretty ladies who submitted their photos and she did a romantic video with him entitled Shes All I Ever Had. That video revived her dimmed career as a celebrity.
Charlotte starred in many television shows like Beverly Hills 90210 and The Secret of Alex Mack. She played an obsessed fan of Vincent Chase who sent him a nude picture of herself in The Season One of Entourage. Her other film roles include the 1991 flicks Trojan War, Jawbreaker, The Rage: Carrie 2, Dancing At the Blue Iguanna (2000), Kate and Leopold (2001) and Rennies Landing Stealing Time (2001). She also appeared as a sexy vampire in the horror comedy movie The Insatiable (2006) with Sean Patrick Flannery.
In addition, Charlotte Ayanna co-authored a book titled Lost in System which was published in 1996. The book was about her childhood story and her success in Miss Teen USA.
