Catherine Mary Stewart chose a life which is different from her familys pattern. At the age of seven, she took up dance lessons and this passion continued to grow into a professional career which eventually made her tour Canada, the Middle East and Germany with the Synergy Dance Company when she turned 16. Aside from dancing, she also studied drama, singing, dialects, etc. After Catherines high school graduation, she made a stint at the London Studio Center and got the lead role in the musical Apple in 1980.
Catherine Mary Stewart then made the leap to Hollywood with goals of continuing her acting career. She stayed with her friends while she is in Los Angeles but it took her less than a year before she obtained her Green Card. This made Catherine broke but as hard work and a bit of luck would have it, she finally got her Green Card and was soon cast in the daytime drama, Days of Our Lives.
More works followed after this which includes a co-starring role in The Last Starfighter and the lead in the cult zombie flick Night of the Comet. Since then, she worked steady in both movies and television and now that she is older, Catherine has returned to acting as she starred in the movies The Girl Next Door and The Attic. She has done more or less thirty-seven films with numerous TV appearances and remained active until now.
Catherine Mary Stewart always treats acting as something very personal. She never wanted to be like anybody else but admitted that there are certain positions in this business that she would like to be in -- like Meryl Streeps position for instance as she admires her accomplishments in the film industry.
Catherine Mary Stewart married twice. Her first marriage was with actor and photographer John Findlater and her second was with producer Richard Allerton. Her second marriage produced two children: Hanna Mary and Connor McKay.
