Catherine Lisa Bell was born on August 14, 1958 in London, England. She is a Scottish-Iranian-British-American actress. Her Father is from Scotland and her mother is Iranian. At the age of three, her parents divorced. Catherine and her mother moved to Los Angeles, California and when she was 12 where she became a naturalized citizen of the United States.

Wanting to be a biomedical engineer or physician, Catherine Bell studied at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She dropped out to become a full time model. Her first modeling job was in Japan. Upon her return to California, she went to Beverly Hills Playhouse to study acting.

In 1990, Catherine Bell got her first television acting role in Sugar and Spice. She starred in Isabella Rossellini’s Death Becomes Her in 1992. This was her first acting role in a film. Then on, Catherine starred in several films like Bruce Almighty with Jim Carrey, a comedy film where she played a supporting role. Her current film was for the sequel, Evan Almighty 2007.

Besides doing movies, Catherine Bell also did some television series. She played as Lt Col. Sarah Mackenzie in JAG from 1997 to 2005.A practicing attorney in Judge Advocate General Corps of legal experts. Catherine appeared in a late nigh adult series Hot Line aired in UK. She was also featured in an episode for The Brunch Club.

On the 14th of September 2004, Catherine joined in the cast of Army Wives where she played the character of Denise Sherwood. She also acted in Triangle, a Sci-Fi miniseries which was presented in December 2005. Catherine was nominated in 2006 for Best Supporting Actress on Television in Saturn Award of Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films for The Triangle. In June 3, 2007 she was NASCAR’s Nextel Cup Series grand marshal. Bell appeared in United, a Scientology music video that promotes human rights in February of 2006.

Catherine Bell loves sports like kick boxing, skiing and snowboarding. She has a tattoo of love on her right ankle. She is fluent in English and Persian language, Farsi. At the age of 20, she suffered from thyroid cancer, so she had her thyroid gland removed. Catherine also posed for FHM Magazines 100 sexiest women I the world in year 2001, 2002 and 2004. On May 8, 1994, she married Adam Beason. She gave birth to daughter Gemma on April 16, 2003. She now lives near L.A.
