However, because of a failing grade on her entrance exam for medical school, Caterina Murino was not able to push through with her original goal plan. Thus, she moved on to work as a model and signed up for the 1996 Miss Italy beauty pageant where she finished fourth place. Her grace and glamour in the said contest was immediately caught by agents such that she was able to quickly bag modeling stints in Milan, as well as posing for advertisements for brands such as Swatch, Mercedes-Benz and MasterCard.
After getting tired with modeling, the sexyt Caterina Murino moved on and began to pursue an acting career. This led the actress to study acting for two years, and during this time she made her stage debut the 1999 production of William Shakespeares Richard III. Upon graduation, she already starred in a number of Italian plays.
Caterina Murino made her film debut on the German TV movie, In der Mitte eines Lebens. This was soon followed up guest appearances in other TV shows, and in 2004 she was able to make her big break opposite Jean Reno in the comedy film LEnquête Corse. This role heightened her popularity as an actress, as well highlighted her looks to be one of Italys hottest female celebrities.
Her biggest project to date was in 2006s Casino Royale, where Caterina Murino auditioned for the role of the sexy Solange Dimitrios, a hot socialite who decided to avenge herself from her husband by having a one-night stand with no less than James Bond. Caterina Murino almost flopped on her first audition, for she broke a rib a day before the shoot. However, because of her astonishing looks and undeniable screen presence, she was able to push through.
