Multi-talented star Cara Buono was born on March 1, 1974 at Bronx, New York, US to a blue-collar family. With determination to land into a better career, she went on her own and managed to find an ad for casting call and sneaked into an audition. Cara’s potential in acting was seen and she was able to land a role in Harvey Fierstein’s play “Spook House”, despite her lack of experience.

Today, Cara Buono has had a career that has spanned every corner of film and television. In 1992, she works with Ethan Hawke and Jeremy Irons in the film WATERLAND. Aside from acting, Cara Buono is into directing and producing films - she has had her hands in every aspect of the process - and still the best is yet to come.

There is no doubt about Cara Buono’s acting skill but her career debut was in episode nine of the last season of THE SOPRANOS, and returns as a series regular this coming season as Michael Imperioli's pregnant wife Kelli. Cara also starred in the TV series THE DEAD ZONE as Sheriff Anna Turner and a series regular in the hit series THIRD WATCH (NBC) as paramedic Grace Foster.

Cara Buono’s Broadway credit includes THE ROSE TATTO (March 23, 1995-April 30, 1995 Circles in the Square Theater) opposite Mercedes Ruehl and Anthony La Paglia directed by Bob Falls, SOME AMERICANS ABROAD (May 2 1990-June 17, 1990 Vivian Beaumont Theater) directed by Roger Michel and THE TENTH MAN (December 10, 1989-January 14, 1990; Vivian Beaumont Theater) directed by Ulu Grosbard.

Cara Buono was able to write, produce and direct films including 1997 short film BAGGAGE, starring Live Schreiber. She co-wrote the screen WHEN THE CAT’S AWAY with film writer Brad Anderson. Cara is also credited for adapting the first novel of Scott Fitzgerald’s THIS SIDE OF PARADISE for Miramax Films.

Cara’s was last seen in the independent feature ARTIE LANGE'S BEER LEAGUE (2006). Prior to that, she starred as Edith Banner in THE HULK, directed by Ang Lee. Cara Buono also appeared in the award winning indie films TWO NINAS, (winner Audience Award GenArt Film Festival), CHUTNEY POPCORN (winner Audience Award Berlin Film Festival), and Noah Baumbach's KICKING AND SCREAMING (NY Film Festival premiere).

Well-loved Cara Buono was born and raised in the Bronx. Her parents’ blue collar job was able to help her attend Columbia University where she earned a degree in English Literature and Political Theory. Remarkably, she was able to finish her degree in three years. Her name Buono in Italian means “good” and Cara in Spanish is “face”. Literally, her name Cara Buono means Good face which really suited her.
