Brooke Satchwell’s mother was a school teacher and it was during her high school years when a woman came into her mother's office to sell kiddie books. This woman was from a casting agency and she then asked Brooke if she has ever done any modeling work before. The business card she handed Brooke turned out to be the key to her fame.
Brooke Satchwell first appeared as a foot model on a Clarke shoe advertisement which was followed by other advertisement appearances. After a year, Brooke became very interested in forensic psychology and spent most of the 1996 summer working part-time in a morgue. She had to leave this job when she passed the audition for “Neighbours” and got the role to portray as Anne Wilkinson. She worked on this soap opera from 1996 to 2000.
Brooke really liked the cast and crew of the soap but unfortunately, she was hit by glandular fever after a few weeks. When she was well enough, she started attending work and her first appearance on the Australian television was marked on November 19, 1996.
Brooke has been seen in Live & Kicking, The Disney Channel, 5's company, Light Lunch and Big Breakfast. In February 1998, she got nominations for two different categories in the Logie Awards where was announced as the Best New Talent. In November 1999, Brooke won the People's Choice Awards for favorite Teen Idol.
In 2003, Brooke joined the fight against sand mining in the Kurnell sand dunes, Australia. The said sand mining has destroyed and created a huge crater on the area of this historic place which has been featured in many Australian films including Mad Max, Rats Of Tobrukand Phar Lap. An application has been lodged to extract and process about 4.5 million tons of sand over the next 10 to 20 years.
In 2004, Brooke Satchwell signed up to act as Pantene's "brand ambassador" and this made her the first Australasian to be featured in the prestigious hair product campaign since Rachel Hunter in 1992.
In 2005, Brooke played a role in the theatre production of Vagina Monologues and in 2006, she revealed that she took up a part-time job as a shop assistant to make ends meet because acting roles we still few then. Nevertheless, Brooke Catchwell is now recognized as an international celebrity who is known by almost everyone wherever she goes.
